This one was a heavy edit. I added Wheeljack, Smokescreen, Ultra Magnus, and myself. did some lighting effects etc.
My artwork is me as a Transformer, Nathonus Prime. Creating it was easier than anticipated, and more fun. I used a base model for the robot and an existing car for the alt form. It was mostly painting, cutting, pasting, copying, etc. I always had this idea, but no real way to express it. This was my best attempt. My goals were to challenge my artistic and Photoshopping skills, as well as express my ideas for a character of my creation. I think this worked out pretty well. I was quite surprised at the ingenuity I put into this. Though, I feel he is a bit disproportionate.
Designing myself as a Transformer. It's ridiculous, but it's also the most tantalizing idea. Take key elements from the car design: Use certain parts of the car. Need a base robot too... I found inspiration from Transformers Prime Smokescreen for the robot, and a Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R for the alt mode.
I'll be using Photoshop more than anything. I will use my drawing skills, and my ideating skills (i.e. what goes where, how does this move etc.) I will need to learn drawing more with the tablet, though I may opt to draw by hand. The best way Ms. Lambright can support me is by offering ideas, preferably design-wise. The easy part will be colouring, the hard part will be the drawing. Press pause in the top left to view a page longer. The vibe for "State of Mind" is the feeling of helplessness, and a never ending negative mindset. My skill goal was to try shading/textures/reflections. Shading is mostly limited to the trash on the side, while textures are expressed in the brick wall, and reflections are especially prominent in the puddle. All of them could've been used more in certain areas. A crime filled, disgusting back alley also gives the feeling of danger and "I want to go home."
This is a short story about Optimus Prime getting almost stopped by an enemy. He will not just stand by and let something bad happen. *Unfortunately, Animate will not let me add colour or a background, so this is the best I could get.* This is the first time I have ever animated a transformation, but I could not do a walking cycle because of my lack of time. For the transformation, I literally took parts of the truck and formed them onto the robot mode. That was my goal, to create a coherent and logical transformation. I feel it could have been done better if I had chosen something simpler or had more time.
This design was inspired by Transformers The Last Knight Megatron: https://www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&ccid=Zr%2fFQggz&id=99BBFA0B51B79976D463BD21668FB5236C39F44A&thid=OIP.Zr_FQggzM7Mz93KxE9mP5QHaHY&mediaurl=https%3a%2f%2fwww.thechosenprime.com%2fassets%2fimages%2fworld+of+3a%2f3a%2ftlk+megatron%2fw3a-tlk-megatron-10.jpg&exph=5981&expw=6000&q=TLK+megatron&simid=607995261410281797&ck=8187F4BC8D2219DCCAFD2585F1A9D8DB&selectedIndex=87&FORM=IRPRST&ajaxhist=0 A lot of elements were altered, the back was mostly my design. Artist statement: Character name: Vrakan. His design is based on Transformers The Last Knight Megatron, as is the name. I drew him completely from scratch, then coloured him in Photoshop. I really like this design, it has a very medieval feel to it while also maintaining a modern aesthetic (i.e. the flamethrower on his arm.) I wanted to push my drawing skills beyond the limit... I did so successfully. This was one of the most impressive drawings I had ever done. I think because of the work I did here, I could try doing more advanced drawings like this in the future. Vrakan was very successful in my opinion.
